Transport properties of fast ice within the nearshore

چکیده
Fast ice affects many coastlines in high- and mid-latitude regions, shaping the coastal morphology by acting as both a protective barrier from winter storms an erosive agent through sediment entrainment transport. It has been hypothesized that when sediment-rich is dislodged transported beyond depth of closure storm waves, permanently removed nearshore, starving littoral system facilitating future erosion. However, despite this large potential impact on budgets, rates mechanisms transport are poorly constrained. This study investigates process fast ice, needed for mobilization, force to breakup ice.
